Edward Knudsen is a Research Associate at the Centre for International Security and an Affiliate Research Fellow at the Jacques Delors Centre. His research focuses on transatlantic political economy, particularly the interactions between geoeconomics and geopolitics. At the Hertie School, he has also researched comparative soft power for the German Foreign Office, studied quantitative state capacity measures for the Berggruen Governance Index, and has served as editorial assistant for the UC Press journal Global Perspectives. Previously, he advised the S&D group in the European Parliament on trade policy and worked as a Research Assistant for the “US and the Americas Programme” at Chatham House in London. He holds a Msc. in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA with majors in economics and history from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
