Süddeutsche Zeitung - Rule of law challenged by responses to migration

As migrants gather at the border between Belarus and Poland, decisions must be made on how to deal with this crisis without compromising EU values. Policy Fellow Lucas Rasche weighs in. 

The crisis at the border of Belarus is challenging the rule of law in the EU. Policy Fellow Lucas Rasche warns that  there is  "the danger that international and EU law will be broken" in this case. The response to this crisis will have ramifications for the future of migration policy and rule of law in the EU. According to Rasche, this response "is currently being negotiated." The EU must condemn Belarus' actions while also requiring Poland to adhere to relevant EU law.
