Visiting the Centre

The Jacques Delors Centre regularly hosts visiting researchers working on issues of European law and politics. The Centre welcomes visitors at all career stages, from PhD researchers over postdocs to tenured faculty. Additionally, the Jacques Delors Centre hosts the annual Michael Endres Visiting Professorship. During the academic year 2022/23, the Endres professorship is held by Lisa Dellmuth.

The Jacques Delors Centre provides its visitors with plenty of opportunities to immerse themselves in a vibrant, supportive, and diverse community of more than 30 researchers. Research interests at the Centre cut across disciplinary boundaries and encompass the law, politics, and political economy of European integration. Situated in the heart of Berlin and combining both academic research and policy work, the Jacques Delors Centre also strives to build a bridge into the practice of European politics. Visitors are expected to particpate and present their work in the Centre's weekly European Governance Colloquium .

We offer our visitors an individual workplace and access to the Hertie School’s library and research services. For PhD researchers, we additionally have a limited amount of travel funding available. Beyond that, the Centre expects visitors to bring their own funding.

Are you interested in visiting the Centre? Please send an outline of your research project, a CV, and a brief letter of motivation indicating the proposed dates of your visit to m.vandenbrink[at]hertie-school[dot]org. Applications for the Fall term (September through January) should be submitted before 1 June. For the Spring term (February through August), we expect you to apply before 1 November.
