Berthold Rittberger is a professor of political science and holds the chair of International Politics at the University of Munich (LMU). Previously he was a professor of political science and contemporary history at the University of Mannheim, where is also served as dean of the school of social sciences. After completing his doctorate at the University of Oxford he was appointed postdoctoral prize research fellow (PPRF) at Nuffield College, Oxford. Since 2013, he serves as co-editor in chief of the Journal of European Public Policy (together with Jeremy Richardson). In his research he focuses on the dynamics of EU integration; regulatory policy-making in the EU; the politics of representation; institutional change in the liberal international order. He is currently writing a book on the politics of blame games in EU politics, which is forthcoming with Oxford University.
