Gil Thompson is a Marie Curie Fellow and Doctoral Candidate at the Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies. His research interests focus on integrated border management at Europe’s migration hotspots. Prior to his doctoral work, Gil worked for the US Congress, with a portfolio including financial services, veterans affairs, and budget appropriation. He also has experience as full-time staff with political campaigns, a civil rights organization, a trade association, and the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. He holds a Masters in Comparative and International Studies from ETH Zürich and a Double Bachelor's in Political Science and Philosophy from St. Olaf College.
