Dr. Judith Kohlenberger is a researcher at the Institute for Social Policy at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), Senior Researcher at the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip) and Affiliated Policy Fellow at the Jacques Delors Centre of the Hertie School in Berlin. Her research interests are forced migration and displacement, integration of refugees in European host countries (especially in terms of education, health and gender) as well as crisis narratives. She is a member of the Integration Council of the City of Vienna, co-editor of Z’Flucht (Zeitschrift für Flucht- und Flüchtlingsforschung) and host of the podcast Aufnahmebereit. Her book Das Fluchtparadox (2022) was nominated for the German Non-Fiction Award. Gegen die neue Härte (2024) is her most recent book.
