The labour ministers of the EU met in Luxemburg on 23 October for a landmark meeting on the European framework for posted workers. France is demanding tougher rules for this practice, which suffers in particular from a problem of circumvention of the existing legislation. This is linked to the idea put forward by the Juncker Commission for a European Labour Authority, a new project for “Social Europe”.
