In this policy brief, Paul-Jasper Dittrich summarizes the current discussion around geo-blockingand the proposals of the Commission regarding the practice. According to the proposals, EU-citizens would be able to get portable access to movies, music and sports events when abroad. Acomplete abolishment of geo-blocking is thus out of the question. In the long term however thereshould be a European licensing system. Regarding e-commerce, an end of online discrimination should go hand in hand with a comprehensive reform of parcel delivery.
