Lucas Guttenberg heads our Europe programme as its Director. His own research focuses on the EU budget, EU economic and fiscal policy coordination, Germany's role in the EU and the Franco-German relationship. Prior to joining us, he served as an advisor to the German vice-chancellor and minister for economic affairs and climate action and as deputy director of Jacques Delors Centre in Berlin. He began his career as an economist at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt and Washington, DC.
