Germany's election - Setting the course for Europe

The German parliamentary elections on 23 February will not only decide the future of Europe's largest economy, but will also set the course for the EU in the global power game between the climate crisis, China and Trump.

Table.Briefings and the Jacques Delors Centre at the Hertie School cordially invite you to discuss the European dimension of the Bundestag election campaign with leading German politicians. The focus will be on economic and climate policy issues:

  • Crisis in the car industry - turning away from the ban on combustion engines or EU purchase premium for electric cars?
  • Emissions trading - should the market fix climate policy?
  • Clean Industrial Deal - Can green lead markets transform industry?
  • Cutting red tape - How can EU reporting obligations be streamlined?
  • Financing - Will Germany end up bearing the main burden?

We will be discussing these questions on 28 January from 18:00 - 19:30 at the Hertie School, Friedrichstraße 180, 10117 Berlin, with Sven Giegold, deputy federal chairman of the Greens, Andreas Jung, deputy federal chairman of the CDU, Judith Skudelny, environmental policy spokesperson for the FDP parliamentary group, and Armand Zorn, SPD member of the Bundestag Finance Committee.

The event is in German and will be streamed live on Zoom and YouTube.

Please note: The registration for on-site participation is closed. Online participation is still possible.
