Zeit Online - "Hungary and Poland are playing with fire”

In a guest article for Zeit Online, Lucas Guttenberg and Piotr Buras show who holds the upper hand in the MFR negotiations.

"The governments in Warsaw and Budapest want to make their citizens believe that a long-term blockade of the financial package would cost them nothing or even bring financial benefits," say Lucas Guttenberg and Piotr Buras of the European Council on Foreign Relations. But the opposite is the case: if Hungary and Poland stick to their veto on the EU budget, the EU has various instruments at its disposal to put payments to the two countries on hold.
