In her contribution for Verfassungsblog, Policy Fellow Thu Nguyen comments the Commission's decision to bring an infringement procedure against Germany.
In her assessment on the Commission's infringement procedure Nguyen finds that "(T)he infringement procedure is hence less about the possible outcomes and more a matter of principle". She concludes that the infringement procedure against Germany, sending a signal to all member states and their national courts that non-compliance with ECJ judgments is not something it simply accepts.
