In an interview with L'Agefi Hebdo, our Deputy Director Nils Redeker explains that it is unlikely a fundamental change of course in the application of European state aid rules will be taken.
Indeed, the Commission began consultations with the 27 member states in October with a view to extending once again the exceptions to European state aid rules granted in April. "But the current relaxation is mainly in response to the new crisis." There is hardly any political will to make this regulation permanent beyond that, Redeker said.
