The two former Deputy Directors succeed Johannes Lindner and join Mark Dawson in co-directing the Jacques Delors Centre as of October 2025.
We are glad to announce that, as of 1 October 2025, Dr Thu Nguyen and Dr Nils Redeker serve as Acting Co-Directors of the Jacques Delors Centre think tank, working closely with Prof. Mark Dawson who continues to lead the research arm. They succeed Dr Johannes Lindner, who returns to his position at the European Central Bank after three years as the centre’s Co-Director.
With Thu Nguyen and Nils Redeker at our helm, we look forward to continuing our work as the central place in Germany where European policy is analysed, debated and shaped. Both bring deep familiarity with the JDC’s work, a proven track record in team leadership and fundraising, and are widely recognised as leading voices in the JDC’s core policy areas.
Thu Nguyen has been with the Jacques Delors Centre since 2020. As Deputy Director, she led the think tank’s work on institutional questions of EU policy. Her expertise covers EU politics, institutional reform, rule of law, democracy and economic governance. She is the host of the JDC podcast “EU to go – der Podcast für Europapolitik”. Before joining the Centre, Thu was Assistant Professor of European Constitutional Law at Maastricht University.
Nils Redeker joined the Centre in 2019 and in recent years has led its Economic Policy team. His research and policy work focusses on EU economics, European economic governance, and industrial and fiscal policy. Before moving into the think tank world, Nils researched the Eurozone crisis at the University of Zurich and was a Visiting Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University.
Reflecting on their new roles, the two new Co-Directors say: “The challenges facing the EU today are at least as existential as those that inspired the creation of the Delors Centre in 2014. We are immensely grateful to Johannes for his exceptional leadership over the past three years. We feel both gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility in taking on this new role, and we look forward to working with our outstanding team to bring strong visions and practical solutions into the European policy debate in Berlin.”
