In the category “Society”, the Deputy Director of the Jacques Delors Centre was honoured for her achievements in science and politics.
Since 2007, Capital magazine has been selecting Germany's ‘Top 40 under 40’ - talents and movers between their late 20s and late 30s who are driving the country forward despite what feels like a permanent crisis. This year, Dr Thu Nguyen is one of them: The Deputy Director of the Jacques Delors Centre was awarded in the category ‘Society’.
In addition to the categories ‘Management’, ‘Politics’ and ‘Business’, the society category honours bright minds who have made important achievements in science, sport, culture, start-ups and initiatives. In addition to an excellent education and plenty of practical experience, the list of the Capital magazine also takes into account the generation's globalised self-image: many of the winners have families with roots in other countries.
34-year-old Thu Nguyen has headed the institutional work of the Jacques Delors Centre and is the host of the ‘EU to go’ podcast on European policy. In May 2024, together with Dr Johannes Lindner, Co-Director of the Jacques Delors Centre, she was voted one of the top 10 think tankers in the German-speaking European scene by Table.Europe. Since October, she has also been an honorary board member for education and research at the European Movement Germany e.V. (EBD).
