An essay from Henrik Enderlein in The Guardian
During the negotiation marathon between Greece and the Euro partners, Henrik Enderlein made a strong plea for a return to reason. In his piece for the Guardian on 20 February, he underlined that an economic compromise would be the only way to avert a crash in this unfolding ‘chicken game’.
Enderlein based his argument on three core points:
- A ‚Grexit‘ would be devastating for Greece, for Europe and for Germany.
- Some of the Greek requests are economically reasonable.
- Some of the German requests are economically reasonable too.
