Süddeutsche Zeitung -  EU plans to ease banking rules

Sebastian Mack criticises that the EU Commission's banking package doesn’t improve the resilience of credit institutions.

In view of the coronavirus pandemic, the EU intends to grant extensive capital relief to European banks. “With the planned quick-fix measures, Europe's banks can artificially boost their capital ratios,” comments Sebastian Mack. “In Europe, banks still suffer from low profitability, and the Commission proposal doesn't change that."
