During the tense situation at the Turkish-Greek border, Policy Fellow Lucas Rasche makes clear that a new approach to European migration policy is unavoidable. 

Despite the escalation at the Greek-Turkish border, the European Union is sticking to its refugee pact with Turkey. Policy Fellow Lucas Rasche considers the agreement as important. However, the EU member states must first reach agreement among themselves. The EU needs a distribution mechanism to distribute asylum seekers fairly among the member states. "There is no lack of ideas here, there is a lack of political will to implement them," says Rasche.
