Quartet at the top: Managing Director and Deans take over leadership for the interim period

Assuring continuity during the transition: Until a new president is elected, the experienced team, consisting of the Managing Director and the Deans of the Hertie School, will assume leadership of the university.

Managing Director Axel Baisch, Andrea Römmele (Dean of Executive Education), Mark Hallerberg (Dean of Research and Faculty), and Thurid Hustedt (Dean of Graduate Programmes) are jointly leading the university from 15 March.

All members of the leadership team have held senior positions at the Hertie School for many years and have been part of the university's leadership since 2022. Cornelia Woll will remain at the school as a Professor of International Political Economy. Her term as President ended as scheduled on 14 March.

“We would like to sincerely thank Cornelia Woll for her commitment over the past four years. Thanks to rising student numbers and international recognition for excellence in research and teaching, the Hertie School is well-positioned to open a new chapter under a new presidency soon. Until then, as the leadership team we stand for continuity and quality in teaching, research, and management,” the leadership team stated.
