NZZ – EU shouldn’t accept blackmailing by Poland and Hungary

The EU must not give in to Hungary's and Poland's blocking of the rule of law mechanism, argues Lucas Guttenberg in an interview with the NZZ.

"If the strategy of Orban and Kaczynski is based on the other states buckling down, the EU should take a clear stance against it," Lucas Guttenberg says in the Neue Züricher Zeitung. After the Hungarian and Polish government’s veto against the EU budget, the EU should not make any further concessions. Instead, our Deputy Director advocates using the leverage of the structural funds to overcome the blockade.
