Following the announcement of the 6th package of sanctions by the Commission against Russia, doubts persist as to their effectiveness, particularly with regard to the banking system. Sebastian Mack recalls that the impact of the sanctions imposed on Russia will be seen on the long run. "These sanctions should be seen more as a marathon than a sprint: their full effects will only be seen in the long term, but they will be tough."
