Hertie School hosts discussion with French President Emmanuel Macron at Munich Security Conference

French President and high-level German delegation discuss current political and economic challenges in the EU.

The Hertie School hosted a breakfast discussion with the President of France Emmanuel Macron and high-level German representatives on 15 February in Munich as part of the Munich Security Conference’s line-up of official side events.

Hertie School President Henrik Enderlein welcomed around 30 leaders from politics, business and research, who discussed the requirements for building European sovereignty and implications for France, Germany and the Franco-German relationship.

Researchers from the Hertie School’s Jacques Delors Centre and the Centre for International Security contributed to the 2020 Munich Security Report “Westlessness.” The Munich Security Conference is chaired by Wolfgang Ischinger,  Hertie School Professor of Security Policy and Diplomatic Practice and Founding Director of the Centre for International Security.
