An interview with Lucas Guttenberg in the Financial Times

The Financial Times reports that parliamentarians of Angela Merkel’s CDU/CSU group intent to push back on Eurozone reform plans. In a paper discussed on Tuesday, April 17th, the bloc demanded that the Bundestag have more say over plans to fransform the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) into a regional version of the IMF. For Lucas Guttenberg, senior researcher at the Delors Institut, this could mark the moment when plans for Eurozone reform die. “If neither Merkel nor Scholz steps up now, then the Eurozone summit in June will be a failure,” he told the FT.
