Since the start of the war earlier this year, over one million Ukrainians have come to Germany. The solidarity at the beginning of this migratory movement was significant, with people volunteering time, accommodations, and money. However, Lucas Rasche suggests that this initial solidarity will now be put to the test: "The real stress test for the reception of Ukrainian refugees is only coming now, when initial expressions of solidarity must be translated into long-term reception and integration policies."
